Born in Managua Nicaragua, Came to the States in 1989. Always an active kid, but didn't play sports till he got into high school. Wrestling and football were the sports of choice. Shortly after graduating high school, Jose began his martial arts training in the Art of Wushu. Soon after he discovered Cung Le and the Discipline of San Shou. As an amature Jose won multiple Championship belts including a world title. He turned pro after earning a bronze medal at Wushu World Games in 2005 which was held in Hanoi, Vietnam. When returning to the States, Jose turned to MMA. He was the headliner for 3 out of 4 Strikeforce Series "Young Guns" Before becoming what is now "Challengers". Misfourtune happen and Jose was forced to step away from the sport he grown to love. Recently Jose has made a comeback in the Muay Thai circuit and his goals are set to return to MMA and claim his mark as one of the best fighters around. Using his martial arts skills Jose has crossed over into the film world acting and directing
